Jacket: Vintage Thrift | Top, legging, Scarf: H & M | Shoes: Shoedazzle | Bag: 3.1 Phillip Lim x Target

I started the year wearing black and gold and I just may end the year the same way. What can I say, they just go together, like dumpling and corn beef. LOL.

Dressing a look up or down is so much more fun when you add SEQUINS. Tis’ the season for as much sequins as you can stand. I have to admit I don’t have nearly as much glittery items as I would like to have. But new year is coming so I have a whole new year to revamp my wardrobe and add sequins. I’m thinking I should get a jacket, skirt and dress.

Do you own anything with sequins?

Icon Obession: Elizabeth Taylor

Our hearts filled with much sadness as we celebrate the life of Iconic Actress/ Activist Elizabeth Taylor (1932-2011)

Elizabeth Rosemond Taylor

Notably Taylor had a passion for jewelry, The Elizabeth Collection, quoted saying, “You can’t cry on a diamond’s shoulder, and diamonds won’t keep you warm at night, but they’re sure fun when the sun shines”. She also launched perfumes such as, White Diamond, which my mom is a very big fan of, Passion and Passion for Men. Her fashion style during the active filmmaking years, aided in the rise of a few designers and inspirations.

She rests with the greats that have been called home in the last few years, like Rue McClanahan, MJ, Teena Marie, Mario Monicelli, Gregory Isaacs, James MacArthur & Alexander McQueen. Rest in Eternal Peace Ms. Taylor.

Obsession: Hair Crush

Tis’ the season for a new do! Hair-do that is. We all develop crushes on something or someone, which started back in our childhood years. As I dove deeper into my own personal journey to natural  unprocessed hair I realized I was crushing on more women than normal. Now it’s not the women themselves but what they may personify to me.

With the hair styles in the movies, at awards shows, of musicians and street-style. Seeing a style, loving the style and going out to get the style can be a bit neurotic, especially if it doesn’t come out just as you imagined.

At the moment Corinne Bailey Rae is my crush, I love her vocals, music, personality, and now more that ever her hair. I love how soft and carefree her tresses look. It’s the effortless styling of it all.

From where I started to where I am today I have a little ways to go as far as length and the styling as we speak I am mastering the technique.
